T.P. Thompson (1860-1924) was a New Orleans businessman and bibliophile. T.P was a member of the founding group of Loyola University of New Orleans and for the Louisiana State Museum. A Southern Progressive, he was also known for his charitable and civic activities, including being the president of the board of the Touro-Shakespeare Almshouse for twenty years. His campaign to bring the 1915 World's Panama Exposition to New Orleans is cited as bringing both civic pride and an enormous amount of publicity to New Orleans as a viable place for national and international trade. This scrapbook documents a selection of articles written by or about T.P. Thompson. Included are newspaper clippings, pamphlets, and brochures with a few images and mementoes related to events or projects he was involved in.
